Honda Civic EK3 (Project Car)
I was always amazed by the hatchbacks that I see everyday in the streets of Laguna and Manila. I have friends and relatives who also own those civic EG, EF hatchbacks. But there was always the one that I truly wanted of all the Honda hatches. The EK hatch
During my college days I used to drive an EK sedan, thats why this car gave me good nostalgic memories of my college days with my friends and family. Im really familiar with this model from the front bumper up to the b pillar. The only difference with the EK sedan that I used to have compared with my EK hatch now is the rear
I got the EK at San Pablo, Laguna. The person that sold me the car kinda gave me a good deal thats why I got the car. My comments on the car when I got it were the following:
- Converted Dashboard was to high.
- The Firewall was poorly converted.
- Steering Column Assembly was welded into 3 places.
- Engine and transmission was working properly. Power and accelelration was good
- Paint did not match in the CR.
* This is the original engine of my EK3.
* These are the engines that I were choosing to be installed in my EK3 hatch.:
Hope this info that I got may also help certain enthusiasts like me.

Note: This engine uses the same block as the Integra Type R, which is taller than the B16a block, but with a crank the same stroke as the b16a. It uses longer rods to accommodate for this, which is why the Rod/Stroke ratio is higher than a standard B16. It is basically a 'Destroked B18C Type R engine'

- etc...
I'll still update this blog of mine as the days roll on....... drive safely....
To continue my blog on my project car, I would like to share my experiences on what I have already done with my car.
- Replaced new rack and pinion set. (shaft replacement was not good enough it always had leaks)
- Installed a set of Bride Brix Racing Seats
- Audio Setup c/o Kid Audio
- Replaced new set of tires Bridgestone MY01 / Grid 3 Potenza
- Installed new compressor (Denso)
I had to change my driving style due to the fact that the engine had close gear ratios. Gas consumption i think is about 7-9km liter same with a Honda Accord 96 model or a 1st Gen Hona CRV. Ride is a bit stiff because of the CTR shocks and springs.
